CHAIR

JroweJudith Rowe QC

Judith was called to the Bar in 1979.  She was made a Recorder in 1999, took silk in 2003 and was appointed Deputy High Court Judge of the Family Division in 2005. Judith specialises in the law relating to children and has appeared in a number of reported cases. Throughout her time as a senior junior and in silk, she has been recognised as a leader in her field. She has been a member of the FLBA committee for over 10 years and a member of the Bar Standards Board Complaints Committee for two years. She has written practical research papers on adoption and contact issues, she co-authored the good practice guide to Related Family and Criminal Proceedings and she was part of the 1 Garden Court team that updated Halsbury's Laws Vol 5 (Children). She lectures regularly for the FLBA and for practitioners.

DburrowsDavid Burles

David was called to the Bar in 1989 and specialises in financial claims by both married and unmarried parties. As well as being an established expert in ancillary relief claims he has a strong interest in property disputes arising between unmarried parties on relationship breakdown. He was a Member of the Legal Advisory Group that formed part of the Law Commission Cohabitation Project 2006/07, which proposed a new scheme for claims made between cohabitants. David was also a member of the Resolution ‘Living Together’ project which, together with Lord Lester and the Odysseus trust, introduced a Bill into the House of Lords in 2008 in an attempt to promote legislative change in this area. David has given many lectures, has written numerous articles, and in 2008 contributed the chapter in Halsbury’s Laws covering claims under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989 and claims under the Child Support Act 1991. His expertise in financial claims has been recognised by his regular entries in Chambers & Partners and Leaders at the Bar. David has been a Deputy District Judge since 2007.

Alexander is ranked as a leading practitioner by The Legal 500 and Chambers UK. He specialises in ancillary relief, TOLATA claims, Schedule 1 applications and general family law.  Alexander is a contributor to Halsbury's Laws, Civil Court Precedents and Jowitt's Dictionary of English Law. He lectures regularly and has written articles for practitioners in various publications, including Family Law.

 

RtamblingRichard Tambling

Richard’s practice covers financial orders upon divorce, TOLATA claims and financial remedies under Schedule 1 Children Act 1989.  His practice is developing in the field of inheritance act claims and also the Court of Protection.  He is very experienced in handling all aspects of private law Children Act 1989 disputes.

Cancellation and Refunds
A credit against the registration fee payable (less an administration fee of £50.00 plus VAT) can only be made in respect of written cancellations received by Jordan Publishing in Bristol at least 10 days before the event. The full registration fee plus VAT is payable on cancellations received less than 10 days before the conference.
